Shoptalk Spring 2026 brought over 10,000 retail leaders to Las Vegas to talk about the "Age of AI." But when we looked at how we wanted to show up at Mandalay Bay this March, we knew we didn't want to be just another tech company handing out pamphlets.

We know that managing large catalogues usually means relying on spreadsheets and guesswork, leaving lean teams totally vulnerable to inventory chaos. We came to Vegas to show exactly how our platform replaces that guesswork with precision.

But to tell that story right, we had to rethink our entire event playbook.

→ Less SaaS, More Retail

Our customers live and breathe merchandising, fashion, beauty, and customer experience. If we are building the operating system for their businesses, our physical space needs to reflect their world.

We decided early on: no standard B2B software stand. We went for a polished, editorial look and leaned hard into our signature purple (you really couldn't miss us on the floor). Instead of generic corporate swag, we gave out thoughtfully designed branded lip gloss and fun boxed cookies. We wanted to create visual merchandising that drew people in naturally, rather than feeling like we had to chase attendees down the aisles.

And it worked! We talked to a lot of interesting people, swapped stories about the daily realities of peak prep.

→ The Icebreaker: "Stop Guessing Your Inventory" Game

You can have the most beautiful booth in the room, but you still need a way to spark real conversations. For Shoptalk, we brought a physical game: a clear Tightly logo filled with small balls, asking attendees to guess the exact number inside.

Watching everyone squint, do the math, and try to guess the total was hands-down a highlight of the week. We shared a lot of laughs, but it also gave us the perfect, natural transition into what we actually do. It opened the door to our favorite question: Why should you have to "guess" when it comes to your inventory?

→ Talking About Retail, Not Just Software

Beyond the lip gloss and the guessing game, the real magic was in the conversations. If you’ve been following Tightly for a while, you know our product is constantly evolving. We move fast, and our platform’s capabilities are always expanding. But at Shoptalk, we made a conscious choice not to just stand at a screen and read off a list of technical features or a product roadmap.

Instead, we chose to present our platform the exact same way our customers think about their businesses: holistically. We talked about retail in terms of the full product lifecycle—from that critical initial launch allocation all the way through to liquidation. Instead of pitching a disjointed inventory tool, we walked people through real, messy scenarios to show them how a true Operating System for Modern Retail connects the dots—like using our direct GA4 connection to translate live web traffic into actual replenishment decisions, catching demand spikes long before they turn into stockouts.

→ The Bigger Shoptalk Trends

Listening to the panels all week, one massive theme kept popping up: retail in 2026 has to get back to real human connection. We’ve captured the raw telemetry of this shift in our 10 key Takeaways from Shoptalk Spring 2026 (For those who weren’t in the room). Of course, AI was still the elephant in the room, but the conversation definitely matured. Brands aren't just talking about traditional SEO anymore; they're trying to figure out how to make sure their products actually show up when a customer asks an AI chatbot for a recommendation. We’re also seeing AI evolve from just guessing what you might want to actively shopping for you. But as leaders from Sephora and Meta pointed out, tech alone won't save you. The real winning strategy is a hybrid one. Whether you're partnering with creators who genuinely match your brand's vibe or giving your store associates smart tools to help them personalize their service, you have to pair that technical speed with actual human warmth. Shoppers have more choices than ever right now, and that authentic connection is the only way to keep them around.

→The Results and the Team

By treating our booth like a retail experience and keeping the conversations grounded in reality, the energy on the floor was incredible. We had high-quality connections all week and easily exceeded our booked meetings goal.

Making operational chaos a thing of the past starts with a single conversation. If you missed us at Shoptalk, you don't have to wait until the next event to stop guessing your inventory. Reach out to our team today, and let's get to work.
